9/11… and why the crackpot conspiracy theorists just may have finally got something right.

Before I become known as a conspiracy theorist, I have to say that normally, I would dismiss these sorts of things. I don’t believe everything is a conpiracy, but there are some very suspicious things about the attack on the WTC on September 11th, 2001. First of all, it seems odd, doesn’t it, that the air force did seemingly nothing that day. This is probably in part because there were several different war games (training/simulation exercises) running that day, one of them being a semi-annual exercise that for some reason had been running for at least two days, and possibly up to four. Again, several different exercises being run at the same time, on the same day. Now doesn’t that seem strange?
Another ‘coincidence’ is that apparently the vice president, Mr. Dick Cheney, was the one in charge of scheduling and running these exercises, remotely, of course. Also, some of the exercises actually entailed what would happen if planes were hijacked and run into buildings. Amidst all these tests, “however, Deskins and other NORAD officials… are initially confused about whether the 9/11 attacks are real or part of the exercise (see this article.)” The real thing was at first mistaken for merely an exercise. That seems like a pretty big coincidence. One of the young women on board Flight 11 made a call, and even though she was obviously distressed, some ground officials did not believe her, and thought she must be wrong. Another account states that a flight attendant, also on Flight 11, made a call, and that “two managers in SOC” decided not to tell anyone about the ‘supposed’ hijacking. In fact, it was reported that the FAA realized Flight 11 had probably been hijacked around 8:20, yet NEADS (a division of NORAD) was not alerted of this possibility until at 8:38. At 8:52, “a flight attendant on Flight 175 calls a United Airlines office in San Francisco, reporting that the flight had been hijacked” (source: wikipedia). This was about six minutes after the Flight 11 crashed int the North Tower. At 9:03, 11 minutes later, Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower. Now you have to wonder, even with NORAD being alerted around 8:40, how is it that nothing could (or would) be done in 23 minutes? How is it that an air force that is supposed to be scrambled as soon as a hijacking (or any apparent problem with a jet, such as losing radio contact, occurs,) and in tests could be in the air within 3-5 minutes max., fail to even locate either plane, especially Flight 175, in 23 minutes? Unless they had (1) been ordered to stand down, or (2) were so confused because so many test runs were planned that day that nobody had any idea about what was going on? Then at 9:24, NORAD is notified that Flight 77, too, may have been hijacked. NORAD already had fighters in the air around Long Island, initially meant to intercept one of the first two planes, but still waiting there. Now, these jets can fly at supersonic speeds. In fact, statistics show top speeds of two and a half times the speed of sound. Mach 2.5. That is pretty damn fast. So how could they have been so slow? Oddly enough, Flight 77 had gone toward the White House (after being officially hijacked) and then turned away, heading back towards it at 9:33, providing enough time to allow the vice president (Cheney- he set up all the spread out exercises to be on one day- that guy, remember?) to be evacuated. Ok, even allowing for the F-15 fighter jets somehow not making it, what about Flight 93? This all started at around half past eight in the morning, so how is it that when flight 93 had obviously been hijacked, and the passenger revolt began around half past nine, nothing was done? Flight 93 crashed just after ten in the morning, over an hour after NORAD was notified of the beginning horror.
Now, I want to say a few words. I know his all sounds like I’m determined to make it look like 9/11 was a conspiracy planned by the government. The fact is, seeing all the evidence for and against that, I’m just not sure. It is a terrible tragedy either way, but if it was planned by the government, the people have a right to know. A few things are for sure: (1) Either those exercises were a distraction, or someone leaked to Al-Qaeda. That or Osama was just damn lucky. (2) There were definitely some weird things going on that morning, whether planned or accidental. Dig deep enough and you will find some disturbing evidence. Ask and you shall receive. (3) Whoever orchestrated 9/11 handed the Bush Administration just what they needed- an easily manipulable way to go into the middle east and wreak havoc.
I’m not sure I know what to think, but maybe some of you do. So go ahead and tell us what you think- yes it was planned by our government, no it was a terrorist plot, whatever. Just be nice. And before criticizing or agreeing, try to back up what you say. At least have a good source at the ready. Oh and if their’s something I forgot- evidence for or against a conspiracy- share it, and I’ll try to work it in. Maybe if you ask nicely, I’ll write a post on if it wasn’t the government.

  1. What were they supposed to do? Bomb the planes as they were in flight? No. Because, you might be too immature to realize that most hijackings simply consist of someone taking over a plane, then landing it to collect a ransom. My aunt was a stewardess for 20 years and experienced 3 hijackings, none of which she was hurt in.

  2. You missed the point. Four planes, FOUR were hijacked. At once. And all were meant to crash into important national buildings. After one, then two, planes crashed into the WTC, wouldn’t you think something would be done about the other two that were heading for the Pentagon and the White House itself? In a hijacking, often interceptors will pull alongside the plane and help/force it to land. Yet on the same day, four planes crashed and none were even met by interceptors. The F-15s just hovered around, ‘waiting for a lead’, yet it should have been fairly simple to find the planes.
